About the Author

GJ Bishop  has spent a lifetime collecting stories worth telling. Born and raised by a single mother in western Washington, Bishop grew up with few material comforts but a vivid imagination that became his escape and greatest asset. That creativity, born out of necessity, has shaped his storytelling ever since.

As a paratrooper in the United States Air Force Special Operations Command, Bishop learned the value of resilience, camaraderie, and adapting to the unexpected. Twenty years after his military service, he took to the skies again, joining a commemorative parachute jump into Normandy alongside fellow veterans and cast members of Band of Brothers. The experience inspired him to chronicle the event in a memoir that reflects the enduring bonds of service.

Now living in North Yorkshire, United Kingdom, Bishop and his wife have traveled to 42 countries, immersing themselves in diverse cultures and gathering experiences that fuel his creative work. Together, they’ve raised three grown children, doted on six grandchildren, and recently celebrated the arrival of their first great-grandchild.

Bishop’s writing explores themes of identity, resilience, and the choices that define us, drawing from the extraordinary experiences of a life well-lived. Whether through his stories or shared adventures, he brings authenticity, warmth, and a touch of adventure to everything he creates.
